Sooo I just got through seeing Fiend Without a Face, Order of the Owl, and Hawks rip a new asshole through 529 in East Atlanta. Got to hang out with Brann for a while and he gave me some details about the new album that are FYM exclusives…but you’ll have to be patient and wait until tomorrow before I post them. I’m tired and need to catch some shut-eye. I’ll also have a full show review up on my main blog within a couple of days. Stay tuned!
Awkward! performing at the showcase.
The eldest Sanders offspring on that gorgeous clear bass. This is really quite awesome.
Photo I took of Bill at the Primate CD release show last night! Check out the main page of my blog for more pictures and a (short) review!
♥ Brann is Love ♥
Doro here - I got this video of “Creature Lives” last night at Missing Link fest! All the members of the bands on the bill, Troy and Brent’s family members, William DuVall of Alice in Chains, and Laura Pleasants from Kylesa came out to sing the chorus. Also, BALLOONS!
Hey MastoDudes and MastoDudettes, Doro here. If you are going to be attending the Missing Link show at the Tabernacle in Atlanta tomorrow, “like” or reblog this post! I would like to meet up with some of our site followers, just to hang out, have a good time, and get some solid feedback about the site (if you want to do such a thing).
I will be the chubby red-head in the Remission T-shirt and maybe with a leather jacket. After the show, there is an afterparty at Elmyr. Mastodon and potentially members of DEP, Red Fang, and other bands on the bill will be there and I’ll be there, too. Come on out and join the fun!
The official poster for the HUGE Missing Link show in Atlanta! There are six confirmed bands for the bill (Atlanta-based bands are starred):
Dillinger Escape Plan
Really excited that local alt/punk act Black Lips have been added to the bill. All six of these bands are deliciously good, although I can say straight-up that DEP are going to stick out like a sore thumb at this gig.
Garage rockers Tiger! Tiger! feature Brann’s wife Susanne on bass, and the retro stoner metal act MonstrO is the new band that Troy’s brother Kyle is slinging bass for. Clicking the names of both bands will lead you to their respective Facebook pages, so go check out their music :)
If you live anywhere within 200 miles of Atlanta, you have no excuse to NOT attend this show. Tickets are $42, and considering that you’re getting six bands on a bill, that’s more than your money’s worth. Don’t miss out on this; you’ll regret it! You’ve got five weeks to figure out transportation and to notify your boss that you’ll be gone. Just go! Buy tickets HERE!
I’m going to be there covering the whole damn thing for those of you who don’t make it, and there might be some exclusive content and other goodies that I’ll bring back for everyone. Stay tuned!
OH I WISH I WERE AN OSCAR MEYER WIENER

I will have some very exclusive/exciting content to post for all of you FYM devotees. Photos, a review, and maybe even something a little…crazy. Stay tuned :)

For those of you who live in Atlanta or the general area, Mastodon will be hosting a special CD release party at Criminal Records September 27th at 6:00 PM. Meet the band, get autographs, pictures, and other goodies! Pre-order The Hunter at Criminal to get tickets!!! An after-party will also be held at Elmyr immediately afterwards :)
I am very happy to announce that I will be in attendence representing this little site. If you’ve ever wanted to meet the woman behind the curtain, this is your chance! Hope to see you there!
"Blood and Thunder" at Criminal Records, ATL, 2004
First off, I want to thank Holly for reminding me to make a post here about Atlanta’s own Criminal Records being in jeopardy. Due to financial issues, the owner of this now-legendary music outpost fears that he will have to close the store for good in November. Mastodon are one of many bands who started their careers playing at Criminal, as you can see here. Even if you don’t live in Atlanta, do something to save awesome mom-and-pop record stores like this one!

BRENT HINDS’ EL MYR COMMERCIAL BLOOPER REEL
Warning: You might piss your pants from laughter.
Also, after watching this, I think Brent would make an awesome dad.
Can’t believe our little B-Hindz is now a viral video star…this video has made it to The Daily What and Yahoo! News. How far will this go?
Brent Hinds from Mastodon stars in this new commercial for El Myr. It’s in the style of a pharmaceutical ad, with Brent fishing, golfing and running with a dog.
Funny commercial and a great burrito spot.
EL MYR IS RIGHT FOR EVERYONE. I’ve eaten there, and the food is close to godliness.
