Doro here - I’m going to give this a shot, since the lyrical side to a band has always mattered to much to me personally.

Brann does write a majority of Mastodon’s lyrics, and Brent usually writes whatever Brann doesn’t. Every song on Crack the Skye and most of Remission was penned by Brann. Leviathan and Blood Mountain were a little more collaborative. In an old interview, Troy hinted that he actually wrote “Blood and Thunder”, but I’m not sure as to how accurate this information is.

Brent’s songs are usually the instrumentals, although I think he does have lyric credits on a few others. Some early material that got re-released on Call of the Mastodon are Brent songs, I believe.

If you want to go with some Brann-penned songs for this project, I think that “March of the Fire Ants” off of Remission, “Naked Burn” from Leviathan, or “Oblivion” from Crack The Skye would be good choices. Hope that helped!
